New Slots At Borgata 2019

MGM is making a few significant changes to the M life Rewards loyalty program at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in New Jersey.

Owner MGM Resorts Internationalsaid these changes are being made to the popular rewards program to provide more consistency across the MGM portfolio of casino resorts.

  1. The penny slots at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa were the best among them at 89.8 percent RTP. However, Borgata’s overall average RTP among slots of all denominations was 91.89 percent, below the industry average and far from the best in the business. High roller slots pay much better across the board.

Synchronizing the MGM properties

Effective Oct. 1, MGM is first aligning how it calculates Express Comps across all MGM properties. In fact, MGM will be adopting the way it’s done at Borgata across the US.

That means all M life Rewards destinations will soon calculate Express Comps based on time played, average bet and game type.

This calculation method is already used for table games at all MGM properties. It’s also used for slots at Borgata, MGM National Harbor, and MGM Springfield. After Oct. 1 it’ll be used across the board at MGM properties for both slots and table games.

M life Rewards room rate discount

MGM is also standardizing M life Rewards’ room rate discount at all properties.

That means all M life Rewards members will be entitled to 10% off room rates beginning Oct. 1. MGM started this standardization at its Las Vegas properties in July of this year. MGM is now rolling it out at all regional M life Rewards destinations, including Borgata in Atlantic City.

Finally, MGM is discontinuing the POINTPlay cash out it once offered at MGM Grand Detroit.

That means M life Rewards members at MGM Grand Detroit will no longer be allowed to cash out their points.

Previously, MGM Grand Detroit was the only MGM property that offered this redemption option. Effective Oct. 1, M life Rewards members will have to convert POINTPlay points to Express Comps.

MGM said these changes are part of an overall effort to ensure the long-term success of the M life Rewards program. Members’ individual Express Comps balances will not change as a result.

Further information is available at the M life Rewards desk at Borgata and all other MGM Casino properties across the US.

The player loyalty program at Borgata

MGM Resorts International took over full controlling interest in Borgata after buying out Boyd Gaming Corporation’s 50% interest in 2016.

Borgata then said goodbye to its My Borgata Rewards player loyalty program by switching over to MGM’s M life Rewards program in June 2017.

Since then, players at Atlantic City’s top-grossing casino have been earning points, slot dollars, express comps and tier credits that they can use at Borgata and any M life Rewards destination across the US.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) — Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa reopened its doors to the general public Sunday afternoon. It’s the last casino to get back in business since the coronavirus pandemic.

“I just won a whole lot of money and I’m feeling fabulous,” Brenda Cook, of Atlantic City, said. “I put $20 in the machine and I won big today.”

The good times are once again rolling at the Borgata. After being closed to the general public since mid-March, the casino floor is open for business.

“There’s nothing worse than a casino with no people,” Melonie Johnson, president of the Borgata, said. “What makes the casino come to life is our employees and our customers.”

But while they are open, there are some changes.

Casino executives say they’ve implemented a seven-point safety plan that includes reducing capacity to just 25%, temperature checks for employees and guests and handwashing stations were installed on the casino floor. Plastic barriers were installed to separate customers and dealers at the tables, and every other slot machine was disabled.

“You really can’t talk to people because you have plexiglass behind you, it’s hard to interact with the dealer again because of plexiglass, but I guess this is the new normal,” Jeff Rutizer, of Philadelphia, said. “You have to take it or leave it.”

“Right now, we are accepting this as our new normal,” Johnson said. “We’ve got to make sure that we abide by all state mandates.”

The Borgata is the last casino to reopen in Atlantic City. The others opened leading up to the Fourth of July.

Management held off reopening because indoor dining still isn’t allowed in New Jersey. As a result, the Borgata has expanded its outdoor dining. Room service is also available 24/7.

According to the state’s gaming division, in June alone, gambling revenue was down over 65% compared to June of 2019.

For the people at the casino, they’re just happy to be winning again.

“I’m so God blessed, so thank you Borgata for making my day,” Cook said.
